Do I have to do the whole series of workshops and do I have to do them in order?

Completion of all three workshops is recommended, but not mandatory. The workshops are designed as a trilogy, with each stand alone workshop focusing on different aspects of the personal growth journey. As each workshop builds on the lessons from the previous workshop, they do need to be completed in order.

Who should participate in the workshops?

Workshop participants come in all genders, ages, colors, shapes and sizes. They come from all walks of life and for as many reasons. For most, there is some form of discomfort or dissatisfaction in their life that may stem from a number of causes – a feeling that one’s life is not as fulfilling as one had envisioned, a difficult transition following a traumatic event, unfulfilled personal relationships, difficulty achieving goals or finding one’s life purpose, a need to reconnect with one’s inner strengths, or a number of other reasons. The Soltura workshops are not psychotherapy and are not intended to treat mental disorders. They are designed to help participants find the answers that exist within themselves.

Soltura welcomes participants of any age, race, gender, religion, creed, sexual orientation or national origin. Participants are pre-screened to ensure that each individual is physically and emotionally capable of completing the workshops.

How do I register for a workshop?

Registering for the workshop is simple. First, review the workshop schedule and select the workshop dates that are most convenient for you. Then click on the Register tab, read the instructions, and then click on the “Register Now” button. You will be asked to complete a Registration Form and brief Health History Questionnaire. A $100 deposit is required with the Registration form to reserve your seat in the workshop. We accept MasterCard, Visa, personal check or money order payable to Soltura Foundation.

What happens after I make my deposit for a workshop?

By submitting the Registration Form and deposit, you indicate your intention to attend the selected workshop and a seat is reserved for you. The Registration Form and Health History Questionnaire is reviewed and a determination is made as to whether you will benefit from the selected workshop. During the review process, a Soltura representative may contact you by phone to further discuss any concerns regarding your health history and how it may impact workshop participation. You will be notified by e-mail when your registration has been accepted and a Welcome Information packet will be sent with additional information and homework assignments designed specifically for the workshop you have selected. If it is determined that the selected workshop is not appropriate for you, the pre-paid deposit will be refunded in full.

What are your payment policies?

Workshop fees are inclusive of tuition, lodging and meals. An initial deposit of $100 is required and must be submitted with your registration to reserve your place in the selected workshop. Your deposit and Registration Form should be received no later than 45 days prior to the scheduled start date of the selected workshop. The balance of the tuition is due once your assessment forms have been submitted, evaluated and approved, but no later than 30 days prior to the scheduled start date for your selected workshop. Payment may be made by credit card or by personal check or money order made payable to “Soltura Foundation.”

What is included in my workshop payment?

Workshop fees include workshop tuition, onsite lodging, and all meals served during the workshop. Lodging is provided from mid-afternoon on the first day of your scheduled workshop through noon on the last day. The first meal served will be dinner on the day of arrival and the last meal will be a breakfast on the day of departure. All workshop supplies are also provided to participants as part of the workshop tuition. The only exceptions are any books or movies that must be read or viewed to complete homework assignments prior to arrival. In addition, participants are responsible for the cost of transportation to the workshop facility.

What type lodging or accommodations are provided during the workshops?

The Soltura workshop facility is located on waterfront property with beautiful views of both the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains. We are on the Key Peninsula, a 90 minute drive from the Seattle/Tacoma Washington airport.  The main lodge provides lodging for participants and includes a large living room, spacious kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining areas, a sun room, and several bedrooms accommodating 2-4 people each. Participants are also invited to explore and enjoy the facility grounds that provide several areas for solitude, meditation, private reading or just enjoying the beautiful waterfront views. As the workshop experience is a time to unplug from your typical routine, there are no televisions or telephones – but who needs them! Workshop facilitators also stay onsite in a separate building located near the workshop room. To learn more about our facility and the accommodations available, we urge you to visit the Location page of our website.

What type of food is served during the workshops?

Meals are simple, light, and nutritiously balanced. Due to differences in individual morning routines and food preferences, a variety of breakfast foods and beverages are supplied and workshop participants are asked to prepare their own breakfast. Lunch and dinner are served buffet style with enough alternatives to accommodate most food requirements. Special diet requests will be considered during the registration process. Participants should be aware that food items containing caffeine or sugar are limited and served only at breakfast. It is highly recommended that participants gradually reduce their intake of addictive food substances prior to arriving for the workshops.

Is there a smoking policy?

"To learn something different you gotta do something different."  In support of healthy personal growth, the Soltura facilities and workshops are smoke-free. Those who smoke are welcome to participate in the workshops but will not be permitted to smoke on the Soltura property. We will support participants in their abstinence during their stay; nicotine patches / gum (used as directed) are permitted with prior approval from the Executive Director.

Are there any physical or emotional conditions that would prevent me from participating?

While some aspects of the workshops are physically and emotionally demanding, they have been successfully completed by individuals of all ages, sizes and fitness levels. As part of the workshop registration process you will be asked to complete a brief Health History Questionnaire. We ask that your answers be as honest and complete as possible to enable us to fully evaluate the potential impact of any health concerns on your participation in the workshops. Our experience is that many health conditions can be accommodated without diminishing the full benefits of the workshops. Significant health concerns (physical or emotional) are discussed with applicants on an individual basis as part of the registration screening process or may be addressed prior to starting the registration process by contacting our office.
