The idea for Soltura grew out of the work by Carole Rosenberg at a therapeutic program for adolescent boys where she developed a series of workshops for the young men and their families. Convinced of the need to make these workshops available to the general public, Carole partnered with Steve and Alix Buckley who provided the initial business and financial resources for Soltura. Due largely to the creative talents of Carole, the generosity of the Buckleys and the volunteer efforts of a number of workshop alumni, Soltura began offering workshops in 2005 using temporary facilities in Oklahoma and Texas while the founders searched for a permanent home for the workshops. In 2007 Soltura moved into its permanent home, a beautiful waterfront property on the Key Peninsula on the west coast of Washington and established a small operations office in Gig Harbor.
Since the beginning a loyal group of early workshop alumni have supported Soltura’s growth by referring friends and family to the workshops, providing financial resources for scholarships, purchasing equipment, and volunteering to provide logistical support to facilitators. We sincerely offer our gratitude to these special “friends of Soltura” and our entire Soltura family.
In 2007 Soltura Foundation applied for non-profit organization status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our Board of Directors is comprised of individuals experienced in business and financial management or community organizations – all of whom have completed either the men’s or women’s workshop trilogy and know first hand the impact of the Soltura workshops. We appreciate their guidance and thank them for their dedication to helping Soltura grow and reach a larger audience.

Soltura Foundation accepts tax-deductible donations to help in the continued growth of our organization and to enable us to provide our workshops to a larger audience. Two funds are available – or you may donate to the general fund and we will decide where the need is the greatest:
- Pay It Forward Scholarship Fund provides partial tuition scholarships to participants who would not otherwise be able to experience the Soltura workshops, due to their limited financial resources.
- Keeping the Dream Alive Fund helps Soltura purchase supplies and equipment essential to our operations by ensuring that participants are comfortable and that their basic needs are being met. This typically involves equipment that cannot be purchased from participant workshop fees. For example, the current need is for a used Suburban or similar vehicle to transport participants prior to and during the workshops.
Anyone interested in making a donation may contact the Soltura office at (253) 857-3444 or info@Soltura.net. We appreciate your support.
